The Guilty Huntsman
A 50-word story
Jul 20201 min read3 views

Scott was out bird hunting with his son. Soon, a bird flew overhead, swift as the wind, and perched on a tree. “Daddy, shoot!” As Scott took aim, he realised the bird had actually landed on its nest. Overcome with guilt, he retreated. “Not today, son,” he said. “Not today.”
Inspired by the line “swift as the wind” from the song “Lisa Sawyer” by Leon Bridges.
