Confluence of Hearts
Mar 2019

Like a confluence of rivers, our hearts collided,
Fingers interlocking, pulses rushing like the waves that brought us together.
There we skipped stones and heartbeats,
And the rays from the sun calmed our deepest insecurities.
“Let it flow,” you said. “Don’t hold back.”
So I didn’t.
And like a confluence of hearts, my river overflowed,
Flooded banks telling the tale of the one whose defences came down,
The one who’s afraid to let your waters entwine once more.
But the rays from your eyes calmed my deepest fears.
“Trust me,” you said.
So I did.
